Lack of necessary mechanisms for children to quit addiction and their rehabilitation after quitting…
At the unveiling ceremony of the book “Children and Teenagers Addiction in Problematic Neighborhoods” held in December 2017 by the Imam Ali Society, Maryam Kiani, Secretary of the Children’s Addiction Seminar, mentioned the illegal treatment of addicted children in adult camps and she expressed the number of hospitals which can accept these children is too limited in all over the country.
She also said that one of the most important obstacles for the children who want to quit the addiction is the mandatory parental permission which needs parents to go to the camp continuously and follow up. However, in most cases, this does not happen due to parental addiction or extreme poverty.
“One of the problems in our society is that a child who has been quit addiction may not be able to attend school anymore,” said Dr. Ghahremani, a psychologist of the Imam Ali Society.
